A night to remember
Italian-Canadian artist and filmmaker Floria Sigismondi took to LA’s iconic Chateau Marmont to celebrate the release of Eat the Sun, an evening hosted by Dakota Fanning and Gucci.
Her third book published with gestalten following Immune (2005) and Redemption (1999), Eat is Sun is “a collection of my photography from the last 15 years,” explained Sigismondi on the night. Over the past three decades, she has worked as a world-renowned creator of film, music videos, and art. Sigismondi has developed her artistry style with the likes of David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Rihanna, and Justin Timberlake to name a few.
The Chateau Marmont was the perfect location for the book launch, her “home away from home,” she went on to explain. Imagery from the book was hung and displayed within the ritzy rooms, including a portrait of Dakota Fanning on the set of The Runaways, Sigismondi’s 2010 film debut on the teenage rock band. Her photographs of David Bowie and Tilda Swinton were also adored to mark the occasion.
The Chateau Marmont event was hosted by Dakota Fanning and supported by Gucci and Alessandro Michele. Actresses Mia Goth and Bria Vinaite were also there to celebrate the release, alongside musicians Soko, Dani Miller, Arrow de Wilde, and Jefertitti Moon. Renowned producer Jannie McInnes and costume designer Arianne Phillips were also present.
